How to Unlock Bootloader, Install Magisk and Root on Razer Phone

Razer Phone was launched last year by Razer. This device has unique premium design and extraordinary specifications. This device comes with 120Hz of display refresh rate which is 2x faster than normal 60Hz display refresh rate. Apart from that it has fingerprint sensor placed on the power button for quick unlocking. On the other side, unlocking Bootloader and rooting with Magisk is an advanced level of work. If we have done any step incorrectly then our device may brick. But don’t worry. We Updatemydroid are here for you guys. Just follow below easy to follow and quick guide to get the benefit.

Before rooting any android device, the first step to take is to unlock the bootloader of that device. All devices as default have locked bootloader by their manufacturer company. We have to unlock it manually.

Magisk Manager is an advanced type of root permission. This method of root do not modify or add any files to your system’s internal files. Apart from that it has the ability to hide root permission from several baking apps.

– This guide is only for Razer Phone. Do not try it on any other device.
– ‎You must have a complete backup of your device.
– ‎You must have charger your phone to at least 75%.
– ‎A USB cable.
– ‎A computer with Windows installed.
– ‎You must have installed all required Razer USB drivers on your computer.
– ‎You must have installed ADB and Fastboot on your computer.
– ‎We will not responsible if you brick your device.
– ‎You must have enabled OEM unlock on your device. To enable it Settings> Developer options> OEM Unlock> Enable it.
– ‎Working mind.

• Download boot.img for your Razer Phone.

• Download Magisk Manager v16.0 for your Razer Phone.

• Download TWRP installer for your Razer Phone.

– First make sure that you have completed all steps of prerequisites.

– Now download all the four files from download section.

– Now right click on ADB and Fastboot installation folder. Here select Open PowerShell window here or Open command window here.

– Here connect your device to your computer through USB cable.

– Now type below command to check your device is properly connected:-

adb devices

– Now type below command to boot your device into Fastboot mode:-

adb reboot bootloader

– Now type below command to check whether your device is properly connected in Fastboot mode:-

fastboot -i 0x1532 devices

Note:- If an alphanumeric code is appearing after this command that means your device is properly connected to Pc.

– Now type below command to unlock the bootloader of your device. This command will erase the data on your device:-

fastboot -i 0x1532 flashing unlock

– Here a prompt window will come on your device’s screen confirming to unlock the bootloader. Use Volume button to select Yes.

– Congratulations!! You have successfully unlocked the bootloader of your device.

– First make sure that you have completed all steps of prerequisites.

– Now download all the four files from download section.

– Now type below command one by one to move these files to your phone:-

adb push boot.img /sdcard

adb push twrp-installer-3.2.1-0-cheryl.zip /sdcard

adb push Magisk-v16.0.zip /sdcard

– Now type below command to boot your phone into bootloader mode:-

adb reboot bootloader

– Here type below command to flash TWRP recovery on your device:-

fastboot flash boot twrp-3.2.1-0-cheryl.img

– Now type below command to boot your phone into TWRP recovery mode:-

adb reboot recovery

– In TWRP recovery, tap on Install, then tap on IMG install. Here browse and select the downloaded boot.img file which you have downloaded above.

– Here swipe to confirm the installation. Now click on Install.

– Now browse and select the above downloaded Magisk v16.0 zip file.

– Now flash Magisk v16.0 same as with second slot. Then tap on reboot.

– Here select switch slot. Now again boot for device into TWRP recovery.

– Now tap on Install. Browse and select the Magisk v16.0 zip and swipe to confirm the installation.

– Now tap on Reboot.

– Congratulations!! You have successfully installed TWRP recovery, installed Magisk and rooted your Razer Phone.
