Comparing Honor 9 Lite and Moto G5s Plus

Honor and Moto are two famous companies bringing mid-range smartphones in market. Honor is a Chinese smartphone manufacturer who mainly focuses on improving smartphones camera. While Moto is always specific about their devices built quality and software. Moto was purchased by Lenovo before a year or two. So now its a child company of Lenovo and most decisions are now made by Lenovo. Honor has launched many smartphones like Honor 9, 9i, 7x, v10 etc. Moto has the smartphones like Moto g4, g5, g5 plus etc. Before 4 months Moto had launched its first smartphone with dual camera setup that is Moto G5s Plus. It has ruled the market during the launch month and after 2-3 months too but now is it same? We will discuss further. Recently Honor has launched its latest smartphone that is Honor 9 Lite which sports a complete glass body and a quad lens camera setup. We will discuss which one is better smartphone out of these two on the basis of five factors: Design, Performance, Battery, Camera, Display. Let’s start.

1. Design

Honor 9 Lite has a full glass body. It has metal body beneath the glass. It is available in two variants  one is blue and other is black. The blue looks much better than black as it is the pure Honor blue color. It is important to note that as it is a full glass body and is very slippery. If you drop it accidentally from you hand its back side glass would easily break.

Moto G5s Plus has a full metal unibody design. It has antenna bands at top and bottom. It is also available in two variants one is lunar Gray and other is gold. Here the Gray variant looks more cool than the golden one.

Comparing both of them we can tell if your priority is durability of smartphone you should go for Moto G5s Plus as it has a full metal unibody display which will protect your phone during some accidents. On the other hand Honor 9 Lite will easily get damaged when slipped from hand. But if your preference is to have a good looking smartphone we will suggest you to go for Honor 9 Lite as it looks modern and premium.

2. Performance

Honor 9 Lite sports a Kirin 659 chipset which is developed by Honor only and is an octa core processor with 4 cores running at 2.3GHz and another 4 cores running at 1.7GHz. It is built in 16nm technology. It comes with a Mali T830 GPU. This smartphone is available in two variants one with 3GB RAM + 32GB internal storage and other with 4GB RAM + 64GB storage.

Moto G5s Plus sports Snapdragon 625 chipset which is an octa core processor with all 8 cores running at 2.0 GHz clock speed and is built at 14 nm technology. It has Adreno 506 GPU which is best GPU from Snapdragon for gaming. This smartphone is available in 4GB and 64GB variant only.

Comparing both of them in terms of performance we can say Moto G5s Plus is the winner as it has a high performance processor and a gaming GPU. It is suitable for handling all day to day tasks and to play all high end games at high settings. On other hand Honor 9 Lite has Kirin 659 which is a good processor but the Mali GPUs are not famous for so good gaming. They always lag behind in high end games with a reasonable frame drop. So go for Moto G5s Plus if you want to have high performance smartphone.

3. Battery

Both Honor 9 Lite and Moto G5s Plus contains 3000 mAh battery. Although there is a difference between them in charging speed as Moto G5s Plus has turbo charge facility and Honor has a standard charging. Both of them will easily last for a day of usage and will give nearly same battery life. In some aspects we can say Moto can have 30-40 minutes more battery life because of its 16:9 screen and Honor has 18:9 display.

Comparing both of them we can say both of them score equals points in this comparison and so you can buy any one of them.

4. Camera

Honor 9 Lite features quad camera setup with dual cameras at back and dual cameras at front side of the smartphone. Both dual camera has 13MP + 2MP camera. The 13 MP shooter acts as a primary camera and 2MP lens is used for depth sensing and providing you with nice bokeh effect. This camera gives nice result and also shutter speed is high. This camera also gives natural captures and like Honor 7x it doesn’t over saturate the image taken.

Moto G5s Plus feature a dual camera setup at rear and a single camera setup at front. The back shooter is a 13MP + 13 MP shooter and the front camera is 8 MP shooter. One lens of 13 MP + 13 MP shooter is RGB sensor and other is a monochrome sensor. It also has electronic image stabilization for shooting videos clearly. Both of them can record up to 1080p quality.

Comparing both of them we can say the result is somewhat same as the rear camera of Moto G5s Plus is good and gives better result than Honor 9 Lite. In front camera the Honor 9 Lite is better than Moto G5s Plus as it has a dual front camera setup. So you can prefer any one of it for camera but if you want good front camera go for Honor 9 Lite and if you need better rear camera go for Moto G5s Plus which has a 13 MP + 13 MP shooter.

5. Display

Honor 9 Lite features an 18:9 infinity display with a FHD+ resolution. It has vibrant color and nice viewing angle.

Moto G5s Plus features a 16:9 normal display with FHD resolution. It give slight warm color and has medium viewing angle.

Comparing both of them we can say Honor 9 Lite has a premium feel and gives display like flagship smartphones.
