At the launching time substratum only supported rooted devices but from the latest update of Android that is Oreo it can be used in any device without rooting it.

How to Install/Setup Substratum on Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL
- Before proceeding further install all mentioned applications above.
- Enable USB Debugging on your device by going into setting and enable USB debugging in developer option.
- When you open Andromeda on phone its shows disconnect for connection status.
4. Now connect smartphone to PC via a USB cable.
5. Once you’ve have connected your device
Windows users: Download AndromedaClient-Windows-3.4.zip. Extract the ZIP and double click on the only batch file inside the zip. Ensure only ONE device is connected and press any key to continue. You will now see the script run in a Command Prompt window and it will launch Substratum!
Mac users: Download AndromedaClient-Mac-3.2.dmg. Open up the DMG and double click on AndromedaClient (purple icon), then it will ask you to pick the disk image that you just mounted in the file browser. Click on OK then wait for your device to launch Substratum!
Linux: Download AndromedaScript-Linux-3.2.zip. Unzip the archive and run ./start_andromeda.sh. Watch the script as it runs and done!
6. After attempting all above steps open substratum manually if it doesn’t open automatically. To check if script worked open Andromeda app and see connection status as connected.
7. Now the Andromeda service is up and running on your device!
